Mine Operations Supervisor

Our client is seeking an experienced Mine Operations Supervisor to provide frontline leadership and operational oversight within its mining operations in Northeastern British Columbia.

This position is responsible for the safe and efficient coordination of crews and operators, including workforce allocation, production performance, operational improvement and day to day team leadership. The Mine Operations Supervisor will respond to changing operating conditions while ensuring production objectives are achieved safely and cost effectively.

Working closely with site leadership, the successful candidate will provide hands on leadership to operational personnel, identify opportunities to improve performance and help maintain a strong culture of safety, accountability and teamwork.

• Allocate crews and operators to safely and efficiently achieve production targets while responding to changing operating conditions.
• Monitor operations and processes, identifying opportunities to improve safety, production, cost efficiency, equipment performance and product recovery.
• Provide technical guidance on operational processes, challenges and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead daily crew meetings to communicate priorities, safety requirements, production objectives and operational updates.
• Oversee employee attendance, timekeeping and related workforce administration, ensuring records are maintained accurately.
• Assess operator performance and capability, working with site leadership to address skill gaps and support employee development.
• Track and document crew performance, production results and other key operational metrics.
• Maintain product quality and recovery standards, supporting operational audits and implementing improvements where required.
• Conduct investigations into operational incidents, identifying root causes and appropriate corrective and preventative actions.
• Promote a strong safety culture through active employee engagement, participation in safety programs and compliance with applicable policies and regulations.
• Address and document personnel matters appropriately, escalating issues where required and supporting a respectful and productive work environment.
• Contribute to employee engagement and team development initiatives that strengthen morale, accountability and operational performance.

• Valid BC Mine Supervisor Certificate.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.
• Minimum five years of experience within a plant or mining operations environment.
• Minimum three years of demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience within mining or a similar heavy industrial environment.
• Previous coal mining experience is considered an asset.
• Strong understanding of mining or plant operations, production processes, operational performance and continuous improvement.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and motivate operational teams while maintaining high standards of safety and accountability.
• Proven problem solving and decision making capabilities, with the ability to respond effectively to changing operational conditions.
• Knowledge of environmental management practices, including spill prevention, containment and reporting.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong working relationships across operational teams.
• Strong organizational and time management capabilities with the ability to perform effectively in a dynamic operating environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to work effectively with workforce administration and other operational software.
• Ability to work 12 hour shifts on a 7 days on, 7 days off rotation.
